Urethane Cement Flooring for Fig Mountain Brewery

Location: California
Scope : Brewing Area, Fermentation Rooms, and Packaging Zone
System: Urethane Cement with Epoxy Topcoat and Cove Base

Peckham Coatings was contracted to install a urethane cement flooring system at Fig Mountain Brewery, designed to meet the demanding conditions of brewery operations. The project covered brewing and fermentation areas, as well as the adjoining packaging zone, where moisture, temperature fluctuations, and chemical exposure required a durable, hygienic, and slip-resistant solution.

Surface preparation included full mechanical grinding and shot blasting to remove existing coatings and contaminants, followed by crack repair and patching to ensure a stable, even substrate. A moisture-tolerant urethane cement base layer was applied to provide long-lasting protection against thermal shock, impact, and chemical attack. The floor was finished with a high-build epoxy topcoat and integral cove base to create a seamless, easy-to-clean surface ideal for food and beverage production environments.

To maintain a clean, professional look that aligns with the brewery’s aesthetic, the coating system was color-matched to complement the facility’s interior. The result is a sanitary, low-maintenance floor system that withstands daily washdowns, heavy equipment traffic, and brewing operations. The Fig Mountain Brewery team commended the project for its efficient turnaround and the superior performance of the finished surface, noting a significant improvement in both safety and cleanliness.
